Eligibility Requirements:You must be a registered or continuing CSU student to use the Student Health Services. Pursuant to Executive Order 943, a continuing student is a student who "has been regularly enrolled at least two terms immediately prior to the term of nonattendance" and where " there is an indication of intent to enroll during the following quarter.” Office VisitsFifteen or thirty minute appointments may be made to see a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse at the Hayward Campus and a Nurse Practitioner at the Concord Campus. Appointments may be made over the phone by calling (510) 885-3735, or in person during clinic hours. Walk-in services are also available. When you are not feeling well, it is not easy to wait for relief. In order to help you get the most out of your visit at Student Health Services, here are some tips to remember:
Walk-In ClinicThe Walk-In Clinic of the Student Health Services is for same day care of recent onset medical problems. The Walk-In Clinic is first come, first served, except for urgent care cases which take precedence. Therefore, waiting time for the Walk-In Clinic may vary. If your schedule is busy and you are unable to wait, or if you have a complicated medical problem that needs more time, you may be best served by making an appointment. Patients are seen quickly in the Walk-In Clinic. If you have more than one medical problem, the provider may elect to deal with the more urgent illness or injury and may ask you to make an appointment to allow more time for handling your other medical needs. Women's HealthWomen's Health care is provided to CSUEB students, including physical examinations, Pap smears, treatment of gynecological problems, family planning, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy testing, and referrals. Nurses ClinicEligible students may obtain blood pressure measurements, vision testing, hearing screening, allergy injections, TB skin tests, electrocardiograms, and more, through the Nurses Clinic. Appointments for the Nurses Clinic can be made in person or by phone through the Reception/Patient Assistance Department at (510) 885-3735. Pharmacy ServicesOne of the best deals on campus is the Student Health Services Pharmacy. Medications are sold for a fraction of retail costs. Prescriptions from Student Health Services providers and outside physicians can be filled from the medication in stock or they can be ordered.
