Orientation Your success at CSUEB begins with your orientation. Understanding the rules, policies and regulations could enhance your entire college experience! Our group orientations help new students put matters into perspective and help you select a manageable course load that meets your needs. All new EOP students are required to attend an EOP Orientation session held during the university orientation. During the School Year Over the course of time, many different situations like academic problems, work schedules, financial concerns, family and personal crises may arise and affect your academic program. Your EOP Counselor can help you sort through these matters, examine your options and develop strategies. Don't hesitate to see your EOP counselor at the first sign of difficulty. Let us try to solve them together! We strongly recommend that new students visit the EOP Office regularly for the first year. Appointments with your EOP Counselor can be arranged and counselors have posted "Drop In" times. Good news or bad news, come on by. Financial Aid Financially eligible students who file the FAFSA by published deadlines may receive an EOP grant as one of many financial resources available to them. Students eligible for financial aid will have most of their needs met with loans, grants, and work-study as assigned by the Financial Aid Office. Once the EOP program notifies the Financial Aid Office of all new and returning EOP students, the Financial Aid Office is solely responsible to assist all students with their financial concerns and awards. The EOP/SCAA Partnership The Educational Opportunity Program and the Student Center for Academic Achievement (SCAA) work closely together to help students succeed. EOP students may participate in many workshops like "Better Note-taking" and "Test Taking Strategies" that are offered through the SCAA. Additionally, EOP students can make special arrangements for individualized assistance. |
