The McNair Scholars Program at CSUEB is committed to preparing academically talented undergraduates to become top scholars and researchers in graduate school.
It is our vision that the McNair Scholars Program at CSUEB will produce scholars who enter graduate school confident and eager to become agents of social change in our communities and around the world.
The goal of the McNair Scholars Program at CSUEB is to introduce juniors and seniors from eligible groups to graduate school, opportunities for academic research experiences, and the intellectual rewards of graduate study during their undergraduate training.
The McNair Scholars Program at CSUEB seeks to produce scholars and researchers who will more accurately reflect the growing diversity in intellectual perspectives, life experiences, and cultures in academia.
Students admitted into the program will benefit from enriching experiences that will prepare them for fulfilling graduate and professional careers. McNair Scholars have the opportunity to attend professional conferences with their mentors, go to graduate school fairs, prepare for graduate school entrance exams, receive guidance through the graduate school application process, obtain information on securing fellowships, graduate assistantships, loans, and study abroad opportunities. Participants learn about graduate school life, advanced library skills, and effective ways to present their work.
Each year 25 undergraduate scholars are chosen to participate in academic year as well as summer research programs. Please click the link below to find out if your are eligible to apply.
