The Research Table
The Research Table will resume in Fall 2007.
In collaboration with the University Library and the English Department, we are offering students drop-in tutoring specifically for research writing. The impetus for the Research Table came from research conducted by students in Alison Warriner’s Writing Across the Curriculum class. Results of a survey showed that writing research papers was among the faculty’s top concerns about student writing.
The Research Table is staffed by trained graduate students who will help students:
- Connect with Library resources. Learn about Ask a Librarian, NoodleTools, journal databases, and reference books
- Understand the assignment
- Organize ideas
- Paraphrase
- Correctly cite sources
The Research Table is in the Student Center for Academic Achievement, LI 2550. Drop-in hours are Monday through Thursday, noon-5pm, and Fridays 12-3.
