Lost and Found

The University Police Department is designated as the official campus location for the receiving and storage of lost and found property. To inquire about any items that you may have lost on campus, please contact the department in person, or by calling (510) 885-3791, 24 hours a day.

Safety Escort Services

Let us be your escort! Did you know that the University Police Department offers an escort service? This service is available to students, staff, faculty and University visitors. Simply come in to the front counter at UPD, or call and a member of the Department will be sent to safely escort you to your destination on campus. Call us from the courtesy phones in the buildings, pay phones, dorm rooms, or from the conveniently located call boxes in the parking lots. (Call boxes have a blue flashing light above them so that they are easily seen and located.) There is no reason to walk alone. "Let Us Be Your Escort-Your Safety Is Our Business."

Fingerprinting Services

The University Police Department provides Live Scan fingerprinting services for a fee of $15 for CSUEB students, staff and faculty and $20 for all others by appointment only. For further information call the Parking and Records Division at (510) 885-3791.

Vehicle Lockout Services

In the event that you accidentally lock your keys in your vehicle, the University Police Department is available to contact your emergency road service provider.  If you do not have emergency road service, or other help available to you, University Police Department personnel will attempt to gain entry to your vehicle, provided you are the registered owner of the vehicle and the vehicle does not have power door locks or side air bags.  For 24 hour service call (510) 885-3791 or use one of the emergency call boxes.

Battery Failure Services

If your vehicle will not start due to battery failure ,the University Police Department is available to contact your road service provider.  If you do not have emergency road service, you may elect to borrow a set of jumper cables from the University Police Department, or the Department personnel may respond to your location and provide vehicle jump services using a portable "booster pack."

Building Access Services

Access to campus buildings is restricted during non-business hours.  It is the responsibility of each staff and faculty member on campus to ensure that all doors allowing access to their offices, rooms and other areas are secured at the conclusion of their work day.  To help accomplish this, the University Police Department will provide assistance as requested or necessary.

Campus buildings are opened by University custodians on weekdays at approximately 7:00 a.m.  Buildings are secured by the University custodians on weekdays by approximately 11:00 p.m.  On weekends, buildings are opened and closed for scheduled classes and events only.

The Pioneer Heights Student Residence Hall is located on Harder Road and is open to residents and visitors only.
